Bluefuse Systems were commissioned by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales as consultants to conduct a comprehensive review of their web systems.
The principle objective of this study was to help ICAEW to decide whether to move their web platform from Adobe ColdFusion to Microsoft .NET.
About the ICAEW Project
Over a 12 week period we looked at factors including performance, scalability, security, resourcing, infrastructure requirements, and associated costs amongst many others. The consultancy culminated in a thorough report giving the ICAEW the confidence to make an informed decision on the future direction of their web platform.

Our Service
Our consultancy service to ICAEW covered:
- A thorough information gathering excercise to gain an understanding of the ICAEW’s IT systems and processes.
- A detailed comparison of the two technologies both independently and in relation to ICAEW objectives and requirements.
- Provision of a formal report presented to the board which included a series of recommendations, expected timeline and estimated costs.
- Presentation to the board of a summary report at the conclusion of the consultancy period.
The report was endorsed and the recommendations within it were implemented in full and the ICAEW started down a 3 year migration path.
Since the acceptance of the report the ICAEW have engaged Bluefuse to offer expert assistance in implementing some of the recommendations contained within the report. This included interviewing for key senior positions for the forthcoming migration.
Bluefuse have subsequently provided further consultancy services relating to maximising their existing software architecture during the migration period.
